I enjoy being in natural history museums more than anywhere else, they teach us what a privilege it is to belong to such a beautiful planet. I’ve always been captivated by the natural world, all I ever wanted to draw growing up were animals. While earning my Bachelors of Studio Art at UCSD I organized a solo show with pieces inspired by some of my favorite animal adaptations titled “Natural Defenses”. When I first learned about CSUMB’s science illustration program it felt like something clicked into place. I’m immeasurably grateful for the Tentacles and Wings Scholarship, for making this amazing opportunity possible and for honoring Marie’s memory and passionate spirit.
